The project aimed to enhance the growth, expansion, and competitiveness of a new Testing Laboratory in Serres by creating support mechanisms that will contribute to the increase of technological content, innovation, and competitiveness of food products in the cross-border area, in accordance with the requirements of European and national legislation.
The core activities of the investment plan lie in the sector of R&D in the food sector and propose the establishment of a new independent and approved chemical and nutritional food testing Laboratory in Serres. KSMC Lab’s business scope is the formulation, small-scale production, and positioning in the market of dietary products for special medical purposes and food supplements.
These products are destined for the exclusive or partial feeding of people with a limited, impaired, or disturbed capacity to take, digest, absorb, metabolize, or excrete ordinary food or certain nutrients/metabolites. To perform all necessary innovation activities, KSMC Lab conducts laboratory tests based on defined, appropriate, and validated protocols for nutraceuticals and food supplements. Additionally, the Lab is equipped with specialized machinery, accompanied by their respective apparatus/devices, used for the production of nutritional supplements in the form of capsules, tablets, coated tablets, powders, as well as liquid forms.
